Beginning Quilting Class

We thought long and hard about how best to offer a beginning quilting class and wanted to find a project that will introduce you to the basics but still result in a "real" completed quilt rather than the samplers you see in similar beginning classes.  We feel strongly that teaching the correct tools and practicing the basic skills of straight 1/4" seams, proper pressing, squaring of blocks will make your new hobby one you want to stick with and continue to improve upon. Finishing your first quilt will certainly lend itself to that probability.  And wait until you see the beautiful Tim Holtz fabrics chosen for the project.  Everyone that sees them, goes crazy.  It is a very neutral palette we believe everyone will appreciate.  Session One we will be going over all of the recommended tools, thread, notions, wants and preferred candies every quilter needs to know.  Chocolate is very important.  We will be cutting out our project as well.  Session Two begins the real fun of piecing and practicing those perfect seams and presses.  You should be able to marvel at your progress by the end of the night.  Session Three we plan on completing the quilt top and will discuss what happens next in the quilting world.  If you choose to purchase any recommended products or services discussed in class, you will receive a discount on any supplies or items for your project or for your "new tool box".  This discount will apply to backing fabric, batting or long arm services as well.  Class size is limited and you may bring your own machine if you know how to use it or you are welcome to use our classroom machines at no additional charge. Miscellaneous items such as scissors and thread will also be available for your use until you decide which items you can't live without.  So pretty much just show up ready to fall in love with the art of quilting.  This piece will do the trick.  Price includes full fabric kit, pattern, your first piece of quilting chocolate and the pieced binding.
