Community Service
Please join us for a monthly Community Service Project Day at InStitches. Any community service project is welcome to use the classroom and our sewing machines.
Some of the community service opportunities -
- Operation Comfort Case is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing comfort, dignity, and love to those facing a hospital stay, illness, or deployment. Tasks include cutting fabric, making kits, preparing fabrics to be sewn using the burrito method, sewing/ironing and preparing pillowcases for distribution. We have pillowcase kits ready to be sewn.
- Sew Powerful make/distribute purses to young ladies in Zambia so they can attend school all month long.
- Project Linus distributes blankets to those in need, Solano and Yolo County both have chapters.
- Under our Wings - a branch of Quilts of Valor honoring service members and veterans touched by war
