Something new for Stitch & Bitch, a monthly theme of color instead.  Sounds weird to me but I’m willing to give it a try.  Sew… we are kicking off the year with the color Red.  Wear Red, eat Red, see Red, well, you get the picture. If you are wearing a suitable amount of Red, you’ll be a winner! Red foods for appetizers and dinner and Red velvet cake for dessert of course. If nothing else, it will be fun to see what we come up with!

Back by popular demand…no really!  It’s Oscar Night. We had so much fun last year, but we already knew who the winners were!  Oh, not this year!  We are ahead of the game. You will be marking your ballots and turning them in.  Stitcher with the most correct chosen winners will receive a prize at next months S & B.  Be prepared for glamour and top notch service as we once again give Wolfgang Puck a run with the plated dinner menu. Hollywood related appetizers, (I mean, who will ever forget Le’Petit Ding Dong, Enjoy!), Chicken Cordon Bleu, Wild Rice, Asparagus Spears wrapped in Bacon and a lovely plated salad all served via specially trained waitstaff….ok…so they may be better at cutting fabric, but, they’re trained!. All of this followed by a special decadent Oscar themed dessert.  Oh it’s going to be Fabulous Darling.

Mardi Gras…Party On!  We got beads, we got King Cake, we got New Orleans Cajun Beef and Grits (it’s amazing). Don your best purple, green and gold and see where the parade takes us!  Only rule is that everyone keeps their clothes on! This will be a ton of stitchin’ fun I can feel it.

Again, we had a theme last year that we just had to bring back even if just for the photo opportunities!  It’s Candy Land time here at InStitches!  Remember when we had that whole table full of colorful treats and temptations?  It will be like that only better! What’s for dinner? Turkey, stuffing and candied yams! But we’ll have a big ol’ salad bar if you just want to balance everything out!  A special candy treat is planned as well.  What could that be Sugar?

Oh it’s Derby Time again.  Yay!  Of course there will be a race! But also bourbon balls, mini browns and derby pie will be back for an encore. A Millionaires Club Sandwich and “chips” will be presented for dinner.  Get ready to place your bets. Who will win the Run for the Roses?

Wedding crashers unite.  Don your best or worse bridesmaid dress, prepare for pictures, a bouquet and garter toss, and the chicken dance.  I can’t believe so many Californians have not done the chicken dance…so much to learn.  Oh we will get some stitching done but there is going to be a break for the reception. Wedding food for dinner….chicken, potatoes and salad except ours will be hot….and good!

Disco Night.  I can’t wait.  Seriously.  We have a disco ball. All of Colleen’s favorite music and the reason her car is named Tony will undoubtedly be center stage.  And what did they do when the disco closed?  Fondue.  I swear!  Look it up!  It will be like The Melting Pot around here.

Back to the 50’s.  Time to settle the debate.  Which decade was better?  Well, we got a taste of the 70’s so let’s hit up the 50’s and the birth of rock n’ roll.  It’s diner favorites for dinner.  Think burgers, fries and milkshakes……mmmmm.  Yes, poodle skirts are mandatory…if you want to. Scooby Doowahhh! Hey! Hoola Hoop Contest anyone? Fer Sure! Nifty!

You say your job’s a joke and your love life’s DOA? Well, join us for F*R*I*E*N*D*S* Night this month!  We’ll loop some classic reruns of this fan favorite sitcom, eat some delicious food reminiscent of episodes past, (Joey’s favorite Meatball Subs with Cheesecake for dessert will make the cut I’m sure, but we’re not so much on the Trifle) and break out the couch and rainbow colored umbrellas for photo ops…maybe not….but we are sure to have fun with our F*R*I*E*N*D*S! We’ll be there for you.

What do you call a party in October?  A Masquerade Party? A Costume Party?  Nahhh… let’s go Drag Show.  It’s all in good fun and good costumes.  You do you, but, there will be a contest. Spaghetti and I mean really good homemade spaghetti with eye balls, I mean meatballs and ribs.  Blahahaha.

Michael Jackson night….think sequined gloves and amusement parks…moonwalk and Bubbles?  Well, I actually googled it!  His favorite meal was enchiladas and salad and he was known for his sweet tooth and love of chocolate.  I’m not making this up I swear!  Chocolate Mousse in honor of Michael for dessert.  Dance contest?  Oh I think so….maybe trivia, we’ll see.

It’s low key and just fun…our annual cookie exchange and white elephant gift swap.  We keep it light for dinner so we can get to the cookies sooner.  An array of appetizers and finger foods await. This is a popular night!
