Serger Playbook

We have brought it back for a third round.  It's been a popular class and a great way to learn more about your serger in a non pressure situation.  I claim, and will stand by my claim, that by the final session of this class, you will be able to serge together a wall hanging with columns of flying geese in 3 hours or less.  Sometimes to achieve the most successful serging results, you have to play with the stitches and think outside the box as they say.  First session will cover overlock stitches used for construction and some fun decorative stitches too.  The second session will find you learning beautiful rolled edges, narrow hems, blanket and ladder stitches.  During our third session you will install a zipper with your serger and I'm pretty sure you won't go back to a regular machine to do them ever again unless you absolutely have to. Cover stitches are the agenda for our fourth session.  There are so may options.  The fifth session is extended and designed to go over everything we covered, answer any questions, share other fun serging techniques and tips and then we will hit the final three hours hard!  You will leave with a small quilt top or wall hanging made on the serger.  I swear!  If you make 4 of them, you will have a full sized floating flying geese quilt top all done and ready to explain to people that it only took you a day to do it on a serger.  It's not suppose to work but it does!  Bring your serger and 4 spools of thread, one red, one blue, one yellow and one green to the first four sessions.  We can go over thread colors needed for your quilt top during the second session after you choose your colorway for the kit.  Cost includes the kit and fabric needed for practice stitches and a notebook to organize your lesson plans, samples, and bright ideas!  You'll be much more comfortable and consistent using your serger after attending these sessions.
