Julian Lis, Owner of ABS Sew and Vac
Julian has been in the sewing industry for over 20 years and has been a sewing and vacuum dealer for 17. He has been at this location for 10 years. He named his business ABS which stands for Always Better Service. His reputation is built on his adhering to the goal of keeping his customers first. Many of our customers come from far and wide to purchase their machines and have them serviced by Julian.
Ginger Penny, Sales Manager
Ginger Penny has been sewing since she was a teenager and, in the late nineties, embraced the new excitement of computerized sewing and embroidery machines. She has been training under industry experts like Sandra Betzina, Martha Pullen and Susan Khalje. She loves the constantly changing sewing world and enjoys sharing her knowledge of sewing with others. She teaches many of the classes at ABS, especially heirloom and Pfaff Software.
Zac Craft
Zac Craft has mastered the art of sewing machine and vacuum repair under Julian's guidance. He is learning all facets of the sewing and vacuum industry and may someday manage the store when Julian retires, if that turns out to be his eventual goal. He is also our resident computer guru and technical expert.
Diane Lis
Diane is an accomplished quilter and knitter and enjoys textile arts of all kinds. She has been sewing since she was eight years old and does machine quilting as a side business. She'll be happy to help with any sales and will help with lessons on all the machines we sell.
We have just celebrated our 10th year in this location and our 17th year in business. We are grateful for our convenient location, just off the freeway, and the business that shares our space, A Quilted Heart (aquiltedheart.net). It is so convenient for our customers to purchase materials for their projects from the quilt shop and we are here to help them with their sewing machines.
One thing we have learned over the past 17 years is that the best advertisement for a business is our loyal customer base. Since we have consolidated and closed our stores in El Sobrante and Stockton, we are constantly amazed that our loyal customers will come all the way to Vacaville to have their machines serviced or to buy a new machine from us. We hope that we will always be your sewing and vacuum service provider.
We are a full service store. Our product lines include Bernina, Pfaff, Brother, Baby Lock, Dakota Designs, Anita Goodesign and Floriani. We sell and service our products right in our store. We offer extended education to all our customers from learning how to use your new embroidery sewing machine and digitizing software down to how to change bags in your new vacuum!
